


It is the intention of the Lao government to take preventative steps in order to reinvigorate and strengthen the tourist industry, which is an essential component of the economy of the country.
A multiple-entry visa now allows for a stay of up to sixty days, which is an increase from the previous thirty days. Through Laos’ diplomatic offices, citizens of 22 different countries can now submit applications for visas that allow multiple entries.
The new visa policy applies to citizens from Australia, New Zealand, the USA, Canada, Russia, and several European countries (Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Ireland, Italy, the Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, and the UK). Citizens from certain European countries, such as Denmark, Norway, Finland, Sweden, Austria, Belgium, Spain, and Greece, can visit Laos visa-free for up to 15 days for tourism.
