Accommodation Sustainability Policy
1. Purpose and Commitment
We are committed to working with accommodation suppliers who prioritize sustainability, support local communities, and operate responsibly in accordance with environmental, cultural, and social standards. This policy outlines our expectations and requirements for all accommodation partners.
2. Sustainable Accommodation Selection
We prioritize collaboration with accommodation suppliers who:
- Demonstrate a clear commitment to sustainability through policies, regulations, or eco‑friendly practices.
- Minimize environmental impact during construction and operations.
- Create employment opportunities for local residents and contribute to improving their quality of life.
- Integrate local art, architecture, and cultural heritage while respecting the intellectual property rights of local communities.
- Include women‑owned or minority‑owned businesses within their supply chain.
- Support community well‑being and cultural identity.
3. Environmental and Community Responsibilities
Accommodation suppliers are encouraged to:
- Develop and implement sustainable practices aligned with local government procedures.
- Ensure essential services such as food, water, energy, healthcare, and soil quality are not negatively impacted and remain accessible to neighboring communities.
- Adhere to strict environmental and community protection standards as required by local authorities.
4. Collaboration and Continuous Improvement
We encourage and support:
- Joint sustainability initiatives with other tour operators and stakeholders where feasible.
- Annual follow‑ups with suppliers to review updates to their sustainability plans and practices.
- Ongoing monitoring through both offline and online channels, including periodic site visits and reviews of websites or social media activities.
5. Legal and Regulatory Compliance
Accommodation suppliers must comply with:
- All applicable local and national laws and regulations.
- International conventions related to sustainability, environmental conservation, labor rights, and cultural protection.
- Laws prohibiting child labor, sexual exploitation of children, and all forms of exploitation.
This includes, but is not limited to:
- Sexual exploitation of children
- Child labor
- Labor rights violations
- Protection of local heritage and culture
- Environmental conservation requirements
6. Child Protection and Labor Standards
We strictly require that:
- No person under the age of 15 (or the local minimum working age, if higher) is employed or engaged in any operations.
- All suppliers comply with international conventions and national laws prohibiting child labor and sexual exploitation of children.
- Children’s rights are consistently respected and safeguarded.
- Any form of child labor, compulsory labor, or exploitation is strictly prohibited.
Although some existing contracts may not explicitly mention child labor, all agreements include a general clause requiring compliance with local laws — which implicitly covers child labor regulations. Any violation, even minor, is illegal and unacceptable.
Any supplier found violating children’s rights or legal protections will face immediate contract termination.
We will continue engaging with partners to include explicit child‑labor‑related clauses in future contracts while respecting their required procedures.
7. Monitoring and Accountability
We maintain responsibility for:
- Regularly reviewing supplier compliance with this policy.
- Ensuring corrective actions are taken when necessary.
- Terminating partnerships with suppliers who fail to meet legal or sustainability standards.
