The gift of Hanoi
Autumn

The season brings a plethora of local specialties. One of its most famous autumn snacks is the “Bánh cốm” – a sweet, fragrant green rice cake that many visitors like to bring home as a traditional gift for their loved ones. This dish is seasonal, usually made in the autumn, and the main ingredient is a type of green rice called “Cốm”. To make a delicious cake, it is important to choose the right type of rice, monitor the heat levels carefully, and roast and grind the rice to perfection. The ideal cake should have a fresh green color and a thin crust that reveals the yellow-green peas inside. This cake is a traditional gift offered to the bride’s family from the groom’s side during weddings. Over the years, “Bánh cốm” has become a popular souvenir for visitors to Hanoi. It is best enjoyed with hot green tea, which helps balance its sweetness and enhance the flavor.”

Uncover the beauty beyond
Angkor Temple.

The Angkor temple complex is undoubtedly the biggest attraction in Siem Reap. While we love exploring the magnificent temples, we are also in quest of discovering other Khmer beauties beyond the temple expedition.

We are fond of Siem Reap’s rural surroundings, where the Khmer lifestyle has been effectively preserved prior to the rapid growth of modern life. You will discover the history and ancient customs of this picturesque Khmer village by strolling through the peaceful roads and observing daily activities such as rice growing, buffalo herding, fishing, and handicrafts, among others. Meet with a local farmer in his traditional home, which is surrounded by gardens and farms, to learn how to raise vegetables using traditional methods and without the use of pesticides. You can also participate in a hands-on cooking lesson with an expert chef, who will show you some secret techniques for creating delectable Khmer delicacies. Finally, enjoy the food that you’ve cooked in a quiet setting surrounded by peaceful countryside surroundings.
