Phu Quoc always comes as the first result when searching for “Vietnam’s most beautiful beaches.” Anytime of the year, you will find plenty to do beyond just chilling by the surf. It is an ideal sport for an enjoyable picnic, a refreshing swim and a relaxing snorkel.

Phu Quoc Island - A place to hide away

The island’s got soothing, warm waters and gently sloping sandy beaches. The 2 most popular beaches in Phu Quoc are Long Beach and Ong Lang Beach. While Ong Lang Beach is home to some of the most charming high class resorts, Long Beach is preferred for its tranquility and crystal clear water.

For active wanderers, Phu Quoc surely an ideal stop where you can find yourself lost in varieties sports. Do not miss snorkeling and scuba diving, for sure! Coral reef and the diverse marine life are waving! Some other water sports to be named here are sea canoeing and squid fishing (at night). If you want to explore the ecosystem on land, go trekking, biking, or join in the bird watching activities. Phu Quoc can accommodate it all!.

Despite the chain of luxurious resorts lining Long Beach, Phu Quoc in general is still undeveloped. You won’t find a lot to do here after dark but visiting local night market, spending time enjoying cocktails at a restaurant overlooking the beach or having a private candle lit dinner on the beach with your beloved ones.

Phu Quoc also offers great choices of fresh seafood with fish, squid, lobster and mussels. You can find sumptuous seafood plates picked and cooked right at the night market.

The best time to visit Phu Quoc is from October to March when the beach has perfectly clear and warm water. Even though the island seems more suitable for couples and honeymooners, it is also believed to be an ideal spot for families and adventure seekers. Vast jungles, a great and beautiful collection of flower and fauna can always arouse kids’ curiosity and adventurers’ interest alike.

Phu Quoc can be reached by 2 ways:

  • By air. This is the most popular way. There are daily flights from Can Tho, Rach Gia, Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi to Phu Quoc. And it takes only an hour if you are flying from Can Tho, Rach Gia and Ho Chi Minh City and 2 hour if you are departing from Hanoi.
  • By ferry. This way, you will have to take the bus from Ho Chi Minh City / Cambodia and then continue on with a ferry or hydrofoil to reach Phu Quoc. If you are taking the bus from Ho Chi Minh, it will stop off at Rach Gia City Port and at Ha Tien City Port if you are arriving from Cambodia.
