Trekking Ban Nam Yang

This morning travel to Ban Nam Yang which takes about 40 minutes. Follow the wooded path on your way to Muang Sing. An Akha resting place can be located at the end of this straightforward hike through forest and upland meadows. The road is broad and gradually gains altitude. You will make it to the top of the mountain in short order, where you’ll have lunch and take in the breathtaking vistas in all directions. Continue to go to a stream in search of animal tracks after lunch. Carry on up the road, which is really more of a track, to the Akha settlement of Nam Yang, where we’ll get a taste of Akha life in the mountains. You’ll going to have an Akha hunter show us how he calls birds. On the way back, stop in the Black Tai village of Nam Ngaen, where the locals produce Lao Whisky. You might also check out the nearby stupa of That Poum Pouk if time permits.
