Your half-day excursion to Kuang Si Waterfall will include a a highlight to the Asian Bear Rescue Centre. Travel south of Luang Prabang for an hour to visit the bustling Phou Si Market. Walk casually through the park to the Kuang Si Bear Rescue Centre after visiting the waterfalls. In 2003, the Free The Bears Fund Inc. opened a facility to house bears rescued from being used in traditional medicine, including the Asiatic Black Bear (moon bear). Learn how to protect Laos’ rare nature by observing one of the country’s most endangered species. Help out with the bears’ midday scatter feed by arriving at 11:00 so that you can hide food throughout the enclosure to make the animals work for their meal. Take a stroll to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall afterward. While the water is warm enough to swim in from May to October, it is much too cold for a swim from November through January. Transfer back to your hotel.
