Day 1: Welcome to Hanoi, the thousand-year-old heart of Vietnam

Ladies, welcome to enchanting Hanoi, where history whispers through ancient temples and every street tells a story. This thousand-year-old city, once the heart of dynasties, is now an elegant mix of timeless charm and modern flair. Whether it’s sipping a creamy egg coffee in a hidden café, wandering through the lantern-lit Old Quarter, or catching glimpses of lakeside life, Hanoi promises a soft landing into Vietnamese culture.

Upon your arrival, you’ll be warmly welcomed and privately transferred to your hotel. Fast-track services help you breeze through the airport with ease.

Overnight in Hanoi.

Start your day however you wish: perhaps a relaxed breakfast at your hotel, or better yet, wander out to a cozy street vendor for a typical Hanoian breakfast like “phở” (beef noodle soup), buttery “banh my,” or colorful “xôi xéo” (sticky rice with mung beans). These morning rituals are full of warmth and local flavor.

Spend the morning strolling through Hanoi’s historic tree-lined boulevards and peaceful lakes, visiting cultural treasures such as the Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum and the graceful One Pillar Pagoda. Soak in the serenity at the Temple of Literature—Vietnam’s first national university, and a haven of learning and poetry.

In the afternoon, continue to the Vietnam Women’s Museum, a heartfelt tribute to the resilience, beauty, and strength of Vietnamese women through the ages. With captivating stories, traditional costumes, and moving exhibits, this museum offers a deeper appreciation of women’s roles in Vietnam’s rich history.

Water puppetry is a one-of-a-kind art form that evolved from Vietnam’s wet rice civilization. Drive 30 minutes from your accommodation to a local residence in a Hanoi alley to see a water puppet craftsman. Coming from a family with a legacy of practicing water puppetry in a rural setting, he became interested in this folk art since he was a child. Sit down for a cup of tea and listen to his anecdotes of how the water puppet came to be, as well as his remarkable experiences traveling to many parts of the world to share Vietnamese culture and folklore with international friends. Then, on his top house level, enjoy a 30-minute entertainment featuring lion dances, buffalo fighting, rice cultivation, and boat racing. After the show, take on the role of an artisan and handle puppets in the water, or work alongside the host to create and paint the puppets.

Later, hop on a cyclo (Vietnamese rickshaw) for a whimsical ride through the Old Quarter’s narrow alleys. Each street here is dedicated to a specific craft, and the rhythm of life hums around you.

Overnight in Hanoi.

This morning, journey to the dreamy seascape of Lan Ha Bay. After a warm welcome aboard your boutique cruise, enjoy a refreshing drink and a lovely seafood lunch as you begin gliding past limestone islets and jade-green waters.

In the afternoon, explore the peaceful Tra Bau area by kayak or take a moment for yourself in the Jacuzzi pool. As golden hour arrives, try your hand at Vietnamese spring rolls during a casual cooking class or relax with a sunset drink on deck.

Dinner is an elegant and cozy affair. Whether you choose cocktails under the stars, a soothing spa treatment, or a bit of playful squid fishing, the evening is yours to enjoy at your pace.

Overnight on cruise.

Welcome the new day with a gentle Tai Chi session on the sundeck, as soft morning light spills over the bay. After breakfast, step into the mysterious Trung Trang Cave on Cat Ba Island, where dramatic limestone formations create a world of wonder.

Return to the cruise for a farewell brunch before disembarking. Head back to Hanoi for your flight to Hue, the former imperial capital of Vietnam.

Upon arrival, you’ll be greeted and transferred to your lovely hotel in Hue.

Overnight in Hue.

Escape the city for the tranquil beauty of Tam Giang Lagoon, Southeast Asia’s largest of its kind. Visit a welcoming local fisherman who shows you how to weave traditional bamboo boats and shares his stories from life on the water. Then, glide along the lagoon in a small boat, soaking in the peaceful landscape.

Experience a “farm-to-table” lunch made with fresh ingredients from a nearby vegetable farm. You’ll leave with a heart full of gratitude for the gentle pace and beauty of lagoon life.

In the afternoon, meet a local Hue food gastronomy for a special tasting experience – salt rice tasting, one of the most luxurious and emblematic delicacies of the old Imperial city of Hue. The dish can be cooked in a variety of ways, such as frying, steaming, or braising, and come with a variety of flavors such as sesame, lemongrass, galingale, and shrimp. We can talk with Lady Gastronomy, who was born and grew up in a Royal family, to understand her effort to search and preserve ancient recipes. And of course, you will have the chance to appreciate this delicacy at Madame Nhu Huy’s home. It is necessary to enjoy these dishes slowly to enhance the fragrance of rice and the salty, peppery, sweet, and sour taste of different types of salt rice.

Overnight in Hue.

Step into Hue’s imperial past as you explore the Citadel and royal tombs. Walk the gardens and grand gates where queens and empresses once strolled. Although much was lost during the war, restoration efforts bring to life the grace of Vietnam’s last dynasty.

Then, embark on a scenic drive to Hoi An, weaving through coastal roads and the iconic Hai Van Pass. As the afternoon light fades, arrive in Hoi An, a magical little town with an old soul.

Overnight in Hoi An.

Rise and shine for a morning filled with fragrant herbs, warm smiles, and hands-on cooking! Join lovely local women at the market to choose fresh ingredients, then return to a charming kitchen for a fun and flavorful Vietnamese cooking class.

In the afternoon, explore the winding lanes of Hoi An Ancient Town. From Japanese bridges to Chinese merchant homes, the architecture whispers tales of centuries past. Finally, wind down at a tranquil teahouse tucked in a quiet corner. Sip ancient Vietnamese tea in silence or sweet conversation.

Grab a sidewalk coffee, watch the world whirl by, and soak up the unique rhythm of Saigon.

Rolls hold cultural significance, which are often enjoyed as part of Vietnamese traditional meals. Beside popular spring rolls, there are also variations which are less known by tourists. Join us to discover world of savory healthy rolls in the bustling streets of Saigon, where every bite is a celebration of Vietnam’s rich culinary stories.

Hope on 1970s vespa, start our rustic yet healthy food journey with “bo pia”, a special roll created by local Chinese Vietnamese over hundred years ago. Taste the ingredients of Chinese sausage and Vietnamese vegetables, and a typical sauce topped with fried onion and peanuts. Make you own rolls and enjoy. Next stop is an authentic “banh cuon” restaurant, showcasing the spirit of steamed rice cakes in southern Vietnam, with a twist of 4 different types of homemade sauces to dip. Wrap your own rolls with flavourful choices of fillings and try all the sauces. Continue to venture deeper into the vibrant alleys of Saigon, where we will encounter a myriad of stalls dedicated to Vietnamese culinary delights. Stop for a real Saigon roll stuffed with pancake or grilled beef, and especially varieties of fresh vegetables and herbs.

End your journey at a hidden bar to enjoy the signature cocktails made-to-order and enjoy your first ladies’ night in Saigon.

Overnight in Saigon.

Today, head into the lush Mekong Delta, Vietnam’s agricultural heartland. Arrive in Ben Tre, known for its coconut groves and quiet charm. Cruise along the river, visiting local workshops that turn coconuts into everything from candy to handicrafts.

Ride a tuk-tuk or bicycle to meet a friendly farmer who’ll demonstrate how he climbs coconut trees—then relax with a fresh coconut in hand. Share a meal lovingly prepared by locals, then gently paddle a sampan through leafy canals before heading back to Saigon.

Overnight in Saigon.

Today, take a short flight to the island jewel of Phu Quoc. Upon arrival, let the rhythm slow as you settle into soft sands, turquoise waters, and gentle sea breezes. Whether you’re dreaming of a beachside massage or a walk along a fishing village, Phu Quoc welcomes you.
