Royal Enamel art

Enamel (phap lam) is important in Vietnamese history, particularly in Hue, where enamelware was used for imperial structures and royal families during the Nguyen Dynasty. The art form, known as Hue phap lam, celebrated local artisan inventiveness as well as the independent spirit of Vietnamese culture, economy, and politics. After nearly 200 years of extinction, Hue people are beginning to relive this traditional fine art. Meet the team of artisan Mr. Triet Do, a well-known expert in Enamel Hue, and learn about his efforts to restore this way of art by combining industries from various sectors of handicrafts. Take the opportunity to witness the entire manufacturing process of a stunning Phap Lam product, manually create your own, or purchase one as a decorative souvenir gift.
